Cape Cod 2011: Part 5: The beach

When you take a trip to the Cape you MUST take at least 1 trip to visit the beach.  Sometimes this visit is only to walk down the boardwalk and see the sunset. Sometimes it's simply driving along the coast to see the ocean.  Sometimes it's a trip to visit a lighthouse.  Sometimes it is even spent wrapped and bundled in many layers while you try to avoid freezing temperatures and snow. But sometimes, sometimes it involves buckets, towels, flip flops, sand castles, and splashing.

While we were on the Cape we had hoped to make a few trips to the "beach" but we only managed to get there once. It was an interesting, entertaining, and enlightening journey.  We learned that while Lillie LOVES the pool she pretty much hates the beach. She did enjoy sitting on her beach towel and being carried around was also ok.

Toes touching the sand was NOT ... O .. K!  As soon as feet touched the sand they got sucked right back up to her chest and she started wailing.

Back on the towel was a little more fun.  Let's just watch Mama and Aunti Megs try to build a sandcastle.

Standing on the sand was a "little" bit better when shoes were on. Semi-happy family photo.
