When you spend a week at the Cape you find that it is ridiculously easy to fill your days with fun and crazy activities. There were so many things that we wanted to do but simply ran out of time for. I guess we'll just have to go back (and Uncle Dan and Aunt Cindy would love some visitors again I'm sure :).
On Monday we drove out to Truro for a tour of the vineyard and a wine tasting. The tour started under this massive tree. It is supposedly the only one of it's kind in the state. We learned that Edward Hopper has done paintings of the main house and barn.

After the tasting a few of us made a quick trip out to Provincetown for a little shopping and wandering. I am completely amazed at the artistic talent some people are lucky enough to possess. I never would have thought to make flowers out of shells.
On Tuesday we headed out to Hyannis for Lillie's first train ride. Gotta love good family time on the train. They offer a lunch and dinner train but we just took the scenic narration tour. We could have brought our own lunches had we thought ahead but just had a few snacks. It was a decent tour but with the summer plant growth along the route some of the scenery was hard to see. I think it would be great in the fall (pretty cranberry bogs) or the spring.

It was Uncle Dan's birthday. Happy Birthday!!!!
Uncle Dan and Aunt Cindy had us all over to celebrate the birthday. Even Aunt Pat & Uncle Nils showed up for the birthday lunch/ afternoon snack.
Then we headed over to see a Cape Cod League baseball game.
On Wednesday we stopped in at a local park and played on the playground.
Of course you have to see an amazing sunset at least once. We headed over to Grey's Beach. We ran down the boardwalk to get the best view. We also ran to avoid the onslaught of midgies that were divebombing our heads. Even the bug spray wasn't any match for them. The only thing you could do was run or cover up (thank goodness for jeans and hoodie sweatshirts.)
Lillie and I just couldn't wait for the camera to click, the midgies got the best of us and we had to swat them away!
The view was totally worth it though!
