Going Back in Time: June 2012

Lillie continued her fascination with picnics.  She loved having them in her bedroom or on the front porch.  One day we had a "girls only" picnic in her room.  She even shut the door so daddy couldn't get in.  While we were inside we heard him turn on the music (a little louder than normal) in the living room where he announced he was throwing his own "boys only" party.  When we opened the door we were quite shocked to see that his party included rearranging a few things ... like every single toy, puzzle, stuffed animal that was in the living room had formed a wall outside her door. .... We were blocked in!!!  We both doubled over in laughter.

Then Lillie promptly moved all the toys that were piled out side the door into her room!

Lillie learned how to drive the car.  I've been unbuckling her from the front seat and giving her a chance to wiggle herself out of her chair (she's getting heavy enough that it's tough to manuver her out without bonking her head on the ceiling so this is sometime easier.  Usually she just climbed out the side when I open her door.  But then for awhile she would climb over the console and plop herself in the drivers seat.  She would push all the buttons, turn all the knobs, and swivel the steering wheel. ... I just have to check to make sure everything is back to normal when she gets out.

Liam celebrated another birthday.  For the last few months everytime he came out to our house he wanted to play with Lillie's workshop.  Each time he came he was working on a "birdhouse".  It was the neverending project.  soooo .... With his birthday coming up George and I dreamed up a "build your own birdhouse".  It was so cute to see Liam put it all together.

Lots of time playing in the sandbox! It's definitely been a huge hit this summer, esp in the early weeks when the pool was still too cold.
