15 months!
New things: Running! Lillie definitely has the walking thing mastered and now she’s on to running. She moves so quickly. At times it’s hard to keep up with her. She wants to climb too. She can climb into her chairs on her own and likes to climb into her workbench too (ok when she’s sitting but she recently discovered that she can stand in it and reach the picture frame on the end table! Yikes!) She can’t climb onto the couch on her own yet but when she’s up there she likes to reach over the back to grab the toys and books that live back there on the shelf. When sitting in her rocking chair she knows how to rock back and forth in it. She will also place her dolls in it and rock them (while saying rocka, rocka).
She has a new-found fascination for pictures. She will reach for the photo album and frames that are near her level and sit down to look through them with you. She especially loves pictures of babies. She will wander around and carry pictures of her or Liam saying “baba” the whole time.
She likes to carry purses/ anything with a handle that looks like a purse. She will spend hours (or at least what feels like hours) filling and emptying anything with a handle and then she will carry (or drag) it all over the house. It’s extremely funny when she starts dragging bags that are bigger than she is.
Recently she has also taken to caring for things and wanting to work in the kitchen. She has a few spoons and bowls/pots. She will fill the bowl or pot with whatever fits and then stir, stir, stir with her spoon. Then she will take the spoon and point it at your mouth or her doll’s mouth to “feed” you. She is also getting pretty good at helping to clean up. She will put her toys into her toy bin and bring things to you if you ask her (usually). Sometimes it becomes a game and she’ll bring the item reeeeeeally close before giggling and running in the opposite direction.
She can give great hugs now. She’ll come up and wrap her arms around your legs or if you’re down on her level she’ll walk right up to you and wrap her arms from 1 shoulder to the other and lean in to put her head on your shoulder. LOVE it! We’ve also been having fun with the direction “Momma give kiss” or “Dadda give kiss”. We say it and she’ll tip her head down to us so we can give her a kiss on the cheek or forehead. It’s totally cute. Or if she’s further away she’ll put out her finger so you can kiss her hand. She hasn’t quite figured out that “Lillie give kiss” means she has to give the kiss yet … she just leans in for you to give her one … oh well … in due time.
Talking: Lillie is talking up a storm. She gets at least 1 new recognizable word a week and sometimes many more than that.

New Words: (a lot of her new words end with the “ah” sound wether the word is supposed to end with an “a” or an “r” or any other letter.)
Rocka, rocka: rocking in the rocking chair
Wagah: her wagon
Wa-dah: water
Crack-ah: crackers (usually goldfish)
Nina: Minnie Mouse (or no?)
Makah: Milk
Hi: hi
Hi jair: High chair
Ba-ba: the sheep
Guk guk: aka – cluck cluck for the chickens
Old words: Nana, Bam-ah (trying to switch to Grandma and Pop Pop = work in progress), Maga, Carcar, Up up, Yep, Bum-a, Mama, Dada
Signs: Please and More. She will sometimes even use them together (normally after hearing the words said together. Waving hello or goodbye (she’s got this cute 1 finger at a time ripple that she started to do), nodding head yes (sometimes I’m afraid she’s going to give herself whiplash she’s nodding so hard), Reaching up, pointing.
There are now even more words that she doesn’t say yet but she definitely recognizes. I am still completely amazed every day by the directions I can give her and she will do them. I can send her to get a specific book … ie: the spider book, and she will go grab that book off the shelf and bring it to me. Amazing!
Teeth: 12!!! In the last 2 weeks 4 molars started coming through. There is one on each side top and bottom.
Sleeping: We finally made the move and changed her from the 2 naps a day to 1. Instead of a nap around 9:30 and another around 3:00 she takes 1 nap around 12:30 or 1:00. She tends to sleep for at least and hour and a half … usually closer to 2 and a half hours. It has taken a little adjusting, for ALL of us, but seems to working well and by the time she goes down for a nap she falls asleep almost immediately and sleeps hard the whole time instead of fighting the nap like she had started doing with 2 a day. Sleeping at night has been a bit rough lately. We figure it is probably because of the molars coming through. We haven’t had completely sleepless nights but there have definitely been numerous nights with getting up in the middle of the night with crying and fussiness that takes a long time to soothe. Now that all 4 teeth have broken through things seem to be settling down again … until the next round decide to come in.
Eating new foods: We tried fish for the first time. She had salmon and really enjoyed it. I am not a huge fan of fish myself but George loves it so needless to say he was thrilled and gloated about it for at least a week. We’ve been pretty low key about introducing new foods to her but both of us had to laugh at ourselves a little bit when we gave her the fish. It is one of the 1st foods we’ve given her that could have a severe allergic reaction and we both watched her like a hawk after her first taste to make sure that everything was ok. (I’ll admit that I watched her a bit more closely than normal for the whole day … just in case.) She was fine, she just has really silly parents.
Drinking: nothing new from last month … She LOVES her milk. She actually starts clapping when she sees her bottle. We’ve tried milk in a cup a few times but she still doesn’t want to drink it out of anything other than her bottle. She also loves her water and can drink like a champ when she wants to. We haven’t tried many juices and even when we do she hasn’t been interested … it’s all milk and water for her.
