Emily and Brian are getting married so mom flew up for the shower on Friday night and then Megs came up to join us yesterday. Mom, Megs, the munchkin and I journeyed off to Porstmouth for the day on Saturday. The four of us explored the city. We had a very successful walk on the pier, Lil had lunch in the park, we all played in the toy store, and had one last yummy stop at Mainely Gourmet Chocolates for some truffles. We bought a bunch for Emily and of course we had to sample some for ourselves (highly delicious ... we will be returning).
This morning Lillie "warmed up" for her day of exploring with daddy by playing soccer with "nana".
This afternoon George took Lillie off to Mosely Park to explore and play on the swings. While they were off galavanting the rest of us went off to Salem for Emily & Brian's shower. It was lovely seeing the family again and catching up. The bride and groom to be looked so happy and excited. The food was delish (Aunt Jean's famous chicken wings ... I so need the recipe again). They also had the most amazing cupcakes: Cookie Dough, yellow cake with frosting and broken chocolate chip cookies on top with the hidden gem ... a scoop of cookie dough filling inside. The Cookies and Cream was amazing too, crushed Oreos baked right into the cake...Yum! Then there was the deadly bowl of M&Ms sitting in the middle of the table ... ate way too many of those.
