Feeling like a character in a sitcom

We have been lucky enough to have Lillie's grandma and pop pop watch her while mommy and daddy are busy working.  It has been amazing and we feel incredibly blessed that we had this opportunity.  They have done a great job with her.  I like to think that George and I are pretty good parents and that she is a pretty smart kid but we both know that the time with her grandparents has greatly influenced her speech, love of books, ability to eat most anything, and her curiosity/ love of exploration outside.  They go on weekly trips to the library to check out books and listen to stories at story hour.  They even found a free playgroup to attend at the local elementary school so Lillie could interact with other kids her age.

We've always known that when she was 2 that we wanted to start sending her to daycare/ pre-preschool a few days a week so she could have that extra interaction with kids and get a feel for the routines and activities at school.  Somehow with everything going on it just slipped our minds to really look into the local daycares until now.  Yes, now, .... just over a week before the school year ends.  The time when class lists for next fall are probably close to being set ... yes. That is the perfect time to START looking.  We look up the local places and see that all open houses occured back in January.  They recommend that applications for preschool be in by March.  They offer walk thrus and parent visits but say that they are done for the time being.  Oh, yes, we seem to have waited too long.  I'm sure we havent REALLY waited too long.  I'm sure we will find an opening and love where she goes and be perfectly happy.  I'm sure that we can probably even get into the place that we like the most (just maybe a different schedule that our ideal).  We know it will all work out in the end but for the time being we are both feeling a little frazzeled that we didn't get on waiting lists months ago (or years ago ... isn't that what they do on tv? ... sign up for preschool before the baby is even born in order to ensure the BEST school and BEST education.)

We'll be back to our normal sane selves soon ... well as sane as we normally are anyway.
