New England Aquarium

While the Ketchems were still in town Lil and I drove into Boston to join them at the Aquarium. I was delighted to find out when I asked at the ticket counter that teachers in the MTA (teachers union) get in for free! Lil is also still in the too young to pay category so the Aquarium was free for both of us.  (I think I foresee a few more visits in our future.  I will also have to ask about teacher discounts more often.) It was a fun and eye-opening experience. Lillie seemed to love all of the animals that were in "pool" type environments that she could look down into like the pool we have at home but was not a big fan of the tanks that were in the wall.

Lillie and Lucy loved the penguin exhibit.

Lillie seemed to like looking UP at the fish tanks from the safety of her stroller.

She hated getting out of her stroller so she could get a closer look at the fish tanks that were on the wall.  I tired getting her out a few times and she would cry, look scared, or cling to me.

She wasn't even a big fan of the turtle statue we found sitting on a bench.... but she warmed up to him.

Then at the end we found the seals (in a pool) and she was positively giddy.  She wanted to get out of her stroller so she could get closer to the glass and smiled from ear to ear.  She LOVED them.

Lillie even loved the seal statue we found.

Just before we left BJ's mom surprised both of the girls with their own little penguins.  Lillie hugged hers all the way home.

Loved spending time with the Luce and her parents. Can't wait to do it again soon!
