10 months

New things: She still just almost crawling (still doing the inch worm). She will get up on all fours and LOOK like she’s about to crawl but then she flattens out and starts pulling herself across the floor again. She alternates the legs but wants to move both arms in one fluid motion like a rower … maybe she’ll join crew when she grows up. We’re starting to think she may walk first or at least very soon after she crawls. She is cruising like crazy. She will stand up holding onto the couch and get from one end to other, sometimes she finagles her way from one side of the room to the other transitioning from couch to chair to ottoman.

George picked up a walker that looks like a mail cart and she will take that thing EVERYWHERE: across the living room, down the hall, into the kitchen, and even off-roading across the backyard. She also likes to wander around and push her own stroller. Last week she showed off her newest trick .. pulling herself up to a standing position. We were very excited. She was slightly less excited when she stood up in her crib at bedtime because she hasn’t quite mastered getting back down after she pulls herself up so she had to cry for help.

Teeth: On the verge of 6! The 2 front bottom teeth are still the only ones that are easy to see. She likes to hide the rest and HATES when you touch her mouth to take a peek. The 4 front top teeth are all in the process of breaking through the gums.

Sleeping: Still sleeping through the night. She still always takes her morning nap but she’s been playing around with her afternoon nap. Some days she takes it and some days she just wants to play or stand. She likes sleeping in the car. She used to fall asleep by the time we got to the end of the driveway but now she tends to save her sleepy time for when we are driving down the highway (or Route 1 … needs to be fairly high continuous speeds)

Eating new foods: Veal and lamb both went over really well. We also tried to venture more into veggies so we introduced beets (which turn everything pinky-purple but surprisingly hasn’t stained anything). In the finger food category she started eating sweet potato fries, mango chunks, and teeny pieces of chicken. She loved the sweet potato and chicken. The mango she still wants from a spoon because it’s too slippery to grab a hold of. We’ve tried giving it to her frozen but she’s not a fan of cold yet.

Drinking: Loving water. Still figuring out how to use the sippy cup/ hold on to her own bottles. The biggest issue is tipping it back far enough to get anything out. She wants to just hold the cup or bottle and drink (like from a straw.) Who knows. Maybe we’ll resort to getting a straw cup sooner than originally planned.
