6 months

Today was Lillie's 6 month appointment with the doctor. She's half a year old already. How did that happen? Still no teeth but it looks like they will arrive soon because she's been getting a bit crankier than normal and drooling like crazy. She weighed in at 15lbs. 13 oz. She is already 26.5 inches long and very healthy.

The past month has been really busy as we got ready for Christmas. She loved playing with Grandpa C's train so much at Thanksgiving that he sent us one of our own that she enjoyed watching right here. She can sit up straight all by herself, reach for things that are out of her grasp, roll easily from front to back to front over and over again, pull off her socks and stick her foot in her mouth (ew). Her favorite part of Christmas may have been opening the presents because the paper crinkled so very nicely and it was fun to grab. Unfortunately, mom and dad were mean and wouldn't let her eat it. We had fun Skype-ing with Grammy Pacenka and the whole Callahan clan. Then we got over a foot of snow and Lillie had a blast taking her first sledding excursion (aka - being dragged around the front yard by mom and dad).

She started eating solid foods over the past month too. The first attempt was not much fun. There was lots of screaming involved but now she enjoys it and tries to steal the spoon. She knows that when the bib goes on that food is coming soon. She loves rice cereal and pears. Even foods she makes faces about eating she will take more easily when mixed with either rice cereal or pears. She will also happily eat peas, apples, oatmeal, and barley .... the bananas have yet to be eaten without screaming but maybe that will change with time. Avocado and sweet potatoes are the next yummy things on the list.
